Deputy Minister Bapela Visits Eastern Cape

The Deputy Minister for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), honourable Obed Bapela, will visit the Eastern Cape, OR Tambo District municipality from 28 – 29 June 2017. The Deputy Minister’s visit is part of the ongoing monitoring programme that the department together with key stakeholders are undertaking to various Provinces.

The monitoring visits are aimed at ensuring that all challenges relating to Initiation schools are adequately addressed so create conducive conditions for a successful season.

The Deputy Minister will also visit the families of those affected by the deaths and injuries.

The Deputy Minister will brief the media following his engagements with various stakeholders and visiting affected families and those in hospital:
