CoGTA Minister Rejects Trillian Allegation

Posted on Posted in Media Statements

Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister, Mr Des van Rooyen has noted the various media reports alleging that Trillian Capital Management and/or Oliver Wyman was contracted by the Department of Cooperative Governance, following his appointment. Minister van Rooyen rejects these allegations.

Minister van Rooyen has engaged with various stakeholders across the local government sector, as is his responsibility and as do all Ministers in the line of duty. The Minister has engaged with multiple academics, professionals, private sector corporations and NGOs since taking office, to solicit ideas and innovative solutions, gather research and invite suggestions. These interactions are in no way indicative of improper conduct.

As indicated, in response to media enquiries, neither Trillian Capital Management nor Oliver Wyman have ever been commissioned to conduct any work for the Departments of Cooperative Governance or Traditional Affairs during the Minister’s tenure.
