Briefing on the Integrated Urban Development Framework (IUDF)

The Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), Mr Andries Nel invites media to a briefing on the Integrated Urban Development Framework (IUDF) in the National Assembly convened by the Office of the House Chair. The gathering will comprise of all Committees in the Governance and Social Clusters.

The Deputy Minister will be accompanied by members of the IUDF Steering Committee including Deputy Ministers of Human Settlements, Finance and Transport departments. Also present will be the IUDF technical team.

The IUDF is a policy initiative of the Government of South Africa, coordinated by the Ministry of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA). The IUDF seeks to foster a shared understanding across government and society about how best to manage urbanisation and achieve the goals of economic development, job creation and improved living conditions for South Africans.

Members of the Media will have an opportunity to interact with the leadership in exploring the overview, objectives as well as way forward on this important policy framework.
