The Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), Andries Nel, will attend Shukuma Mzansi II – SA-EU Community Arts Centre Dialogue and deliver a key note address. The Deputy Minister’s address will be on the Integrated Urban Development Plan (IUDF) and the role of arts and culture within the communities in relation to social cohesion and job creation.
The IUDF is a policy framework that guides how the South African urban system can be reorganised, so that cities and towns become more inclusive, resource efficient and good places to live, work, shop and play in, as outlined in the National Development Plan.
The Shukuma Mzansi International Community Arts Centres Dialogue is an initiative that is funded by the SA-EU Strategic Partnership – the Dialogue Facility which contributes to the strengthening of relations between the European Union and South Africa and encourages cooperation between equal partners in a number of areas in the economic, social and cultural fields.
