CoGTA Adjustment Budget 2020/21 Financial Year National Assembly Debate

The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), will present virtually the readjusted budget vote under challenging circumstances due to COVID-19 pandemic. The Minister will be supported by Deputy Ministers of CoGTA Mr Obed Bapela and Mr Parks Tau.

The 2020/21 CoGTA budget will speak to the key priorities of CoGTA going forward, including the implementation of the government-wide COVID-19 response through the Disaster Management Act, 2002, which is currently guiding the risk-adjusted lockdown strategy in the country.

The budget will reflect on progress achieved thus far arising from the previous plans; the current work that CoGTA is undertaking including the 2019/20 plans, especially those focusing on efforts put in place to ensure effective and efficient functioning municipalities and other interventions across the CoGTA portfolio.
