Support planning and implementation of Local Economic Development programmes in Provincial and Local Governments within the national LED framework. The Department has supported 9 municipalities during the financial year 2009/10 on LED related activities. 22 municipalities will be supported in 2010/11 financial year, whilst 30 municipalities are planned for 2011/12 financial year. An amount of R9.8 million is allocated for the operations of the sub-programme in the 2010/11 financial year.
