Minister Richard Baloyi is taking measures to ensure that outstanding regulations on the Municipal Systems Amendment Act are finalised.
During his budget vote commitment the minister undertook to ensure that all outstanding regulations for the implementation of the Municipal Systems Amendment Act must be finalised by the end of August 2012. The process towards finalisation of the regulations involves continuous consultation among the Ministry, SALGA and organised labour.
To ensure timeous finalisation of the process the Minister has directed that the stage that follows in the process be invoked to ensure that the deadline is adhered to. Other processes will run concurrently due to the fact that other parties involved in the process do not come to party.
