REGULAR OR MONTHLY MEETINGS BETWEEN MINISTER BALOYI AND THE NATIONAL KHOI-SAN COUNCIL (NKC)

In our regular meeting as the Ministry of CoGTA and the NKC held yesterday on the 18th of June 2012 in Pretoria, a report on the work done by the NKC in their work and endeavours to unite the Khoi-San communities was received.

The National Khoi-San Council is a body formed for purposes of uniting the Khoi-San communities and to create a platform through which they can raise issues affecting them as a group of communities. The most important and recent issue the NKC is involved in is the statutory recognition and inclusion of the Khoi-San peoples into the formal government structures.

A new shopping mall for Moruleng community Print E-mail

The rural community of Moruleng in North West will now enjoy an enhanced shopping experience following a sod-turning ceremony to open a new shopping mall close to the community by Minister Richard Baloyi recently.

Minister Baloyi has hailed the new development as a community pride which will consolidate the dignity of the community leaders and attract more investors to the area in future.

"It is a pleasure indeed to be part of this sod-turning event which marks the birth of a shopping mall that will bring services close to the community and also create opportunities for other investments that provide facilities for community benefits," said Minister Baloyi.

Minister has also urged business to invest in rural areas as a way of partenering with rural communities in their development which also yields mutual benefits.
    

 
Minister Baloyi holds special meeting with Members of Parliament Print E-mail

Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Richard Baloyi will today lead a special meeting with the Members of Parliament from Limpopo Province and the President of the African People’s Convention (APC) Themba Godi to discuss issues that transpired during Mr Godi’s meetings with traditional leaders.

The Limpopo MEC for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs, Mr Clifford Motsepe will also be in attendance.
