The National Disaster Management Centre Co-Hosts the 8th Annual Fire Safety and Prevention Seminar.

Running from Thursday, the 23rd to Friday the 24th of March 2023, the seminar draws delegates from high-ranking officials and experts in fire services from across South Africa and practitioners in fire safety and prevention.

Key to the seminar’s discussions will be the transformation of the country’s fire services from a response-based fire management methodologies to focusing on proactive fire risk reduction through safety and prevention initiatives.

The sharing of expert knowledge and emerging trends in fire safety and prevention ensures that our fire prevention practitioners are exposed to the latest methodologies and technology in fire risk reduction which is important for the country to be at the cutting edge of this profession.

The delegates will further look into ways of standardising institutional collaborations and partnerships in the implementation of the National Fire Safety and Prevention Strategy which requires an integrated approach.

The seminar is one of the ongoing initiatives by NDMC to create platforms for dialogue among the fire services practitioners to contribute towards the improvement of the country’s fire services.

Members of the media are invited to cover the two days event as follows:

– Date: 23-24 March 2023.
– Venue: Gqeberha, Pine Lodge.
