The National House of Traditional Leaders (NHTL) wishes to congratulate Mama Winnie Madikizela Mandela her 80th birthday. In the eyes of many South Africans and to the NHTL, indeed Mama Winnie is a living Legend and an Iconic Queen of the liberation struggle. She is our living heritage. The NHTL wishes her more years to come and will always look upon her for wisdom.
Our special appreciation also goes to the African National Congress Women’s League, for having ensured that Mama’s birthday is accorded such a magnitude equating a person of her statue. “The saddest aspect of life right now is that science gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom.†― Isaac Asimov.
Her greatest wisdom has liberated South Africa from bondage and her greatest wisdom will continue to nurture her, South Africa.
