On Monday, 3 October 2016, Deputy Minister Obed Bapela delivered the keynote address at the 2016 Institute of Municipal Finance Officers’ Conference which saw the organisation being renamed to CIGFARO and its new branding unveiled.
In his speech, Deputy Minister Bapela urged officials to decisively deal with corruption as it continued to deprive communities of essential services. He further emphasised the critical role of traditional leadership in pursuing good governance.
