The National House of Traditional Leaders (NHTL) will be officially opened for the 2019 business by President Cyril Ramaphosa on the 19th of February 2019.
The annual event allows members of the house to engage and agree on the new programme of action that will emanate from the debate of the President’s address. The address by the President constitutes an important milestone and speaks to the significance of this institution which is fully recognised through the country’s Constitution.
The guests invited to attend the Annual Address include the Speaker of the National Assembly, Chairperson of the NCOP, Cabinet Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Premiers, MECs responsible for Traditional Affairs, Kings and Queens, Traditional Leaders from SADC Countries and South Africa, Executive Members of the Provincial Houses of Traditional Leaders, CONTRALESA, Business Sector, Religious Sector, NGOs, and the representatives from amongst others, Political Parties, National Khoi-San Council, as well as Chapter Nine Institutions.
