Minister Dlamini Zuma’s Condolence Message On The Passing Of Her Majesty Queen Nozamile Sigcawu Of AmaXhosa

The Minister for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma has learned with sadness of the untimely passing of Queen Nozamile Sigcawu of AmaXhosa Kingship.

The late AmaXhosa Queen Mother was the wife to the late King, His Majesty Xolilizwe Nozamile and the mother to His Majesty, the late King Mpendulo Zwelonke Sigcawu.

The late queen has been a pillar of strength within the AmaXhosa kingship since the reign of her late husband, His Majesty Xolilizwe Nozamile. She has played an important role in the transition that saw her son, His Majesty Kumkani Zwelonke Sigcawu being crowned king after the passing of his father. The late Queen Nozamile was the fountain of wisdom and had the interest of her people at heart whom she selflessly served until her unfortunate passing.

The Ministry of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs joins the AmaXhosa nation and the whole country as they remember the gallantry, dedication and hard work of the Queen mother in service of her people.

Minister Dlamini Zuma conveys her sincere condolences to the AmaXhosa people and the royal family as well as the Eastern Cape provincial government on the passing of the Queen Mother Nozamile Sigcawu.

May her soul rest in peace.
