Minister Dlamini Zuma to Undertake a DDM Working Visit to the Zululand District and Hand Over Water and Sanitation Infrastructure Project

The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will undertake a DDM working visit to the Zululand District from 9 to 10 December 2020. The ministerial visit is a continuation of a broader DDM institutionalisation process which encompasses multi-stakeholder engagements, thus giving practical expression to CoGTA’s constitutional mandate.

During this visit, Minister Dlamini Zuma will engage the Zululand District Command and municipalities on key issues relating to local government and Covid-19 interventions.

CoGTA through its agency, the Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent (MISA) continues to facilitate technical and project funding support to municipalities. To this effect, the Minister will hand over some of the water supply infrastructure projects to the community of eBhokwe and conduct an assessment of ongoing upgrades of the wastewater treatment plant in eMondlo under the Abaqulusi local municipality. This water and sanitation infrastructure will go a long way in providing the much-needed services and relief to communities in need.
