Minister Dlamini Zuma to Address the National Water Summit

The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will attend and speak on the role of municipalities in addressing water challenges at the upcoming National Water and Sanitation Summit scheduled for 18 February 2022.

The Minister will, in this regard, engage and address delegates on the issues of water, infrastructure and reticulation.

Local government has as its mandate the responsibility to provide clean running water and sanitation to communities. The issues of infrastructure and reticulation also falls within the mandate of local government.

Minister will address issues related to the role of local government sphere in line with its mandate to provide clean running water to households and sanitation.

The input of various stakeholders (experts, industry leaders, non-profit organizations, environmentalists, government in all spheres, water boards and international partners) who will be attending the Summit will be invaluable for the work done by local government in the provision of these services.
