The Department of Cooperative Governance is today convening a Strategic session for the Results Management Office (RMO).

The purpose of the RMO Strategic Planning Workshop is to provide a platform for engagement between the
Department (Sponsor) and the RMO Resources, on the problem statement, the trajectory and the objectives of the RMO. It is to agree on the implementation plan and projects that may be undertaken by the RMO.

The RMO is an attempt to put in place the requisite capacity and resources that will enable the Ministry of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs to, in partnership with provinces, support and capacitate municipalities to perform their functions. Owing to the long-standing challenges facing municipalities, such as the general failure to render services, failure to
collect revenue, etc.
