The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Mr Velenkosini Hlabisa, will address the Black Business Summit 2026, convened by the Black Business Council (BBC), under the theme “Making Every Municipality Work – The Impact of a Functioning Local Government on Business and Service Delivery.”
The engagement will provide an opportunity for Minister Hlabisa to outline COGTA’s approach to strengthening local government and creating municipalities that are functional, financially sustainable, accountable and capable of delivering quality services to communities.
The Black Business Summit brings together thought leaders, government representatives, academics, economists, professionals, organised business and representatives of the Black Business Council’s affiliated members. The Summit provides a platform to interrogate policy and legislative instruments affecting socio-economic transformation and inclusive growth in South Africa.
