Q: What is the AGSA–CoGTA 10×10 Forum?
A: It is a collaborative platform established by the office of the Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA) and Ministry of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA) to strengthen cooperation and improve financial governance, financial management and performance management across government, particularly local government.
Q: Why was the Forum established?
A: To promote collaboration, improve audit outcomes, strengthen accountability and support better service delivery in municipalities.
Q: What does “10×10” mean?
A: The Forum brings together 10 AGSA structures and 10 departments comprising the national Department of Cooperative Governance (DCoG) and nine provincial departments responsible for local government.

A: The national AGSA office, nine provincial AGSA offices, the national DCoG and nine provincial departments responsible for local government.
Q: Which other organisations participate in the Forum?
A: National Treasury and the South African Local Government Association are invited to participate and support the work of the Forum.

A: At least twice annually.

A: The Forum is co-chaired by AGSA and DCoG representatives, with chairing responsibilities alternating annually.

A: Progress is reported through governance structures, including Technical MinMEC, MinMEC and, where applicable, the Portfolio Committee on CoGTA.
