Yes, registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) is compulsory for all prospective suppliers bidding for CoGTA tenders. The CSD serves as the single source of supplier information for all government spheres, simplifying the business process and eliminating multiple registrations.

CoGTA tenders are primarily advertised in the Government Tender Bulletin and on the official CoGTA website (www.cogta.gov.za). Many tenders are also available on the National Treasury eTender Portal. You can download bid documents directly from these platforms once a tender is advertised.

No, briefing sessions vary by tender. Some tenders have compulsory briefing sessions (where attendance is mandatory for bid validity), while others have optional/non-compulsory sessions, and some have no briefing sessions at all. This information is clearly indicated in each tender advertisement and document.

CoGTA follows a fair and transparent evaluation process based on:

  • 90/10 or 80/20 scoring system (price and B-BBEE points)

  • Technical functionality and compliance

  • B-BBEE status level

  • Price and affordability

  • Specific goals (local content, SMME development, etc.)

All awards are published on the CoGTA website in compliance with transparency requirements.
